  • WOOD FINISHES
  • When buying wood furniture for your home,
remember that wood stains penetrate into wood differently, depending on the variables in the grain.
This will create different shading in the final finish; therefore no two pieces will ever look exactly the same
This not considered a product defect.
It is part of the beauty and romance of a real wood finish…and its character.
Remember wood and water DON"T mix.
Never clean real wood furniture with water.
Only use a furniture polish to clean all surfaces.
Any object containing heat or liquid should nt be placed directly on any wood surface.
Proper care will ensure longevity of any wood product.

  • CHERRY FINISHES
  • Nature assigns every tree its own identity and individual characteristics.
These differences in grain and color variation are part of the beauty of nature.
Surface irregularities, small indentations, pits, and pockets in the wood are common
in furniture with real cherry finishes.
These are NOT considered product defects.
They are part of the beauty and romance of cherry.

  • ANTIQUED FINISHES
  • This furniture is intentionally finished with the dents, nicks and rub marks
that give it a "Antiqued" or "Old World Look".
Taft Furniture wants you to understand the nature of antiqued furniture and the beauty it creates.
The different variations in the antiqued finish are not considered defects in the product.

  • SLATE
  • The slate tiles used in this furniture are cut from a natural slate quarry.
As such, every piece has its own individual characteristics and no two are the same.
The differences in coloration and shade, also the irregular texture of the top and sides,
are part of the beauty of natural slate and are not considered a product defect.

  • MARBLE
  • The solid genuine marble top is made to withstand the test of time.
It can withstand heat, liquids, and is very resilient against scratching.
It can be cleaned with soap and water or a cleaning solvent.
    It requires no special care.
In fact, marble is used extensively as countertops in more expensive homes due to its durability.
Spider veins and lines are natural characteristics of marble.
This is not a defect in the marble, yet is considered part of the beauty and romance of genuine marble

  • KEEPING IT LEVEL

  • Chairs and tables are manufactured to be used on level floors, however,
some floors in homes are not level or off level enough to the degree that tables and chairs may wobble.
This may also apply to china cabinets, armoires and some computer desks.
A floor that is not level will affect the alignment of doors.
This is NOT a defect in the product.
It may be necessary to purchase "glides" or pads (available from your local hardware store)
and apply them to selected table legs and chair legs to level your dinette.
On china cabinets etc., shims may also help offset any inconsistency in your floors.
