Assistant to the Director of Sales:
Taft Furniture and Sleep Center is recruiting for an Assistant to the Director of Sales to assist the Director of Sales and Sales Department in achieving store goals by utilizing exceptional customer service and knowledge while building long term customer relationships.
Essential Duties Include:
  • •Assisting Director of Sales with recruiting, selecting, orienting and training, while complying with all state and federal regulations.
  • •Assist with monitoring sales activities to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
  • •Assist Sales Associates with maintaining relationships with customers and negotiating and closing deals.
  • •Maintain Sales Associate schedules, ensuring adequate coverage.
  • •Assist with ongoing training, coaching and development of Sales Associates.
  • •Assist with customer complaints, settle disputes, resolve grievances or conflicts.
  • •Maintain high level of knowledge of products.
  • •Establish and maintain exceptional interpersonal relationships. Promote a positive and teamwork environment.
  • •Responsible for opening and/or closing the store.
  • •Assist Director of Sales with all areas of store operations.
Qualifications Include:
  • •Must be able to travel to Saratoga location as needed.

Mattress Center Demonstrator:
Taft Furniture and Sleep Center has an exciting new Part Time position as a Mattress Center Demonstrator. Your key responsibility would be to help customers with questions, product features and benefits, and demonstrating.
Essential Duties Include:
  • •Ensure customers receive outstanding service by establishing their need for Mattresses. Present products, product features and benefits, warranties, store policies and payment and/or •finance options.
  • •Work closely with Sales Reps from each bedding manufacturer.
  • •Keep displays crisp in appearance.
  • •Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions and advertisements.
  • •Assist in tag changes.
  • •Assist in internet sales.
  • •Operate "chat" from website.
  • •Other duties as needed.
Qualifications Include:
  • •Ability to process information/merchandise through computer system and internal STORIS system.
  • •Ability to use the Internet, email and social media for use in customer communication.
  • •Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
  • •Ability to work varied hours as business dictates.

This PART TIME position is for the WEEKENDS (Friday evenings, Saturday and Sunday). Hours scheduled are up to 29 hours/week. 
Sales/Design Associate:
Taft Furniture and Sleep Center has an exciting opportunity for energetic and enthusiastic home furnishings Sales/Design Associates in our Albany and Saratoga Springs locations. This position starts at an hourly rate with the intention of eventually becoming FULL COMMISSION.  If you have the ability to provide high quality customer service and enjoy engaging in positive experiences with your customers, then you have the potential to earn up to an additional $600/month. Product knowledge and training will be provided.
Essential Duties Include:
  • Ensure customers receive outstanding service by establishing their needs for home furnishings.
  • Accurately and effectively complete all transactions.
  • Monitor and review all existing orders.  Keep customers informed of delalys or arrivals.
  • Follow-up on special orders and orders awaiting delivery.
  • Communicate with other departments regarding any special issues or delivery issues.
  • Keep displays crisp in appearance.
  • Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge information, merchandise promotions and advertisements.
  • Assist in tag changes.

Qualifications Include:

  • Retail sales experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule.
  • Outstanding customer service experience.
Customer Care Manager:
Taft Furniture and Sleep Center is seeking a dedicated and creative customer service focused leader to oversee all aspects of customer care prior to, at the point of, and after the sale.  This person should possess superior communication skills, problem solving skills, and exemplary supervisory skills, to oversee our Customer Service Department staff and to improve and enhance our customer's overall experience.
Essential Duties Include:
Monitor and manage customer issues through all communications channels including Reputation Management.
Resolve issues and improve customer relations, in a professional and timely manner, by a variety of ways (within set parameters), including monetary adjustments and exchanges.
Keep records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, service requests and comments, as well as actions taken.
Conduct surveys to customers pertaining to service of all personnel and departments within the organization.
Determine problem areas of service and administer resolutions.
Manage Customer Service Associates, Service Technicians, and Front Counter Associates including hiring and training. Conduct all areas of performance management with your team.
Manage and train Front Counter Associates on financing options, qualifications and procedures for customers.
Set, maintain and enforce department operating procedures.
Prepare training materials and job reference guides to enable staff quick access to procedural related questions.
Responsible for opening both the Saratoga and Albany Stores and performing managerial duties, as required.
Qualifications Include:
Minimum of Associate’s Degree in Business Administration.
Minimum of five (5) years managerial experience in customer services field.
Ability to empower staff, increase morale and productivity.
Ability to use social media tools including, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.
Excellent communication skills, including public speaking ability.
Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to maintain composure when handling unexpected challenges.
Ability to travel to both our Saratoga and Albany Store locations, primary location of work would be the Albany location.
This position requires the flexibility to work a retail schedule which includes some weekends, nights and holidalys.

Facility Maintenance Support

Taft Furniture and Sleep Center is seeking an experienced Full Time Facility Maintenance Support specialist to assist in maintaining the structures of the establishments.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Repair or replace defective equipment parts. Maintain the vehicles used by the support team.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance.
  • Inspect drives, motors and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, or perform maintenance actions.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, lifts, saws, drills and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices
  • Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery and equipment.
  • Diagnose mechanical problems and determine howt  to correct them.
  • Inspect, operate and test machinery.
  • Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work. Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other parts of machinery.
  • Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools and power tools.
  • Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs and straightedges.
  • Paint and repair roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall and other parts of the building.
  • Fabricate and repair counters, benches, partitions or other wooden structures such as sheds and outbuildings.
  • Purchase supplies need to perform tasks in accordance with company policy guides.
  • Operation of rental equipment.
  • Snow removal and grounds maintenance.
Qualifications Include:
Knowledge and demonstrated experience in performing work in all areas of building maintenance, including, but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, snow removal, and housekeeping.
Must be able to work as a team and independently.
Clean and valid driver’s license.
Two to four years of related experience.
Must be able to operate all tools to perform the duties listed above.
This is a full time position with a Monday-Friday schedule. Limited on-call is required when necessary.

Front Counter Associates (Albany):

Taft Furniture is currently recruiting for PART TIME (up to 29 hours week) and FULL TIME FRONT COUNTER ASSOCIATES in our Albany store. Our team-oriented Front Counter Associates are dedicated to providing our customers exceptional customer service and they are looking for another professional to join their team.

Our team is seeking customer service oriented individuals who have prior retail experience to assist customers with their purchase by processing sales orders, scheduling merchandise for delivery or pickup,coordinating financing of merchandise, answering phones and light housekeeping.Candidates must possess customer service experience in a retail environment. You must also possess excellent customer service skills, the ability to work in a team environment, basic computer experience and a professional appearance and demeanor.

This position requires the ability to work flexible hours (days, evenings, weekends, and some holiday hours).
